Where steel corrodes and aluminium pits, pultruded FRP keeps carrying cables — corrosion-proof, fire-retardant and non-conductive.

Some environments defeat every metallic finish: chemical plants, fertiliser units, electroplating shops, ports and offshore installations. For these sites we manufacture FRP (fibre-reinforced polymer) cable trays — pultruded from glass fibre and thermoset resin into sections that simply cannot rust, pit or form patina.
FRP brings two bonuses beyond corrosion immunity. It is electrically non-conductive, removing the bonding-and-earthing obligations of metallic tray, and its low thermal conductivity keeps the tray itself cool to touch. Fire performance is engineered in: our fire-retardant grade aligns with IS 6746 surface-burning and ASTM D635 flammability requirements, with resin systems up to vinyl ester for the harshest chemistry.
The pultrusion process delivers consistent cross-sections in widths from 50 to 1000 mm at 3 to 5 mm wall thickness, in both perforated and ladder patterns, with the complete FRP accessory family — couplers, bends, tees, reducers, covers and clamps.
| Parameter | Range / options |
|---|---|
| Width | 50 – 1000 mm |
| Wall thickness | 3 – 5 mm |
| Patterns | Perforated (solid bottom, pre-drilled) and ladder |
| Process | Continuous pultrusion |
| Standards alignment | NEMA practice; IS 6746 / ASTM D635 fire tests |
| Accessories | Couplers, splice and angle plates, hold-down clips/clamps, covers, dividers |
| Resin system | Character | Choose for |
|---|---|---|
| Isophthalic polyester (Type I) | Industrial-grade corrosion resistance | General plant duty |
| Isophthalic polyester FR (Type IFR) | Corrosion resistance + fire retardant | Occupied and fire-rated areas |
| Vinyl ester (Type V) | Superior chemical + fire performance | Acid plants, chlor-alkali, offshore |
| Parameter | FRP tray | HDG steel tray |
|---|---|---|
| Corrosion in chemical/coastal service | Immune | Coating-limited |
| Electrical conductivity | Non-conductive — no bonding runs | Must be earthed/bonded |
| Weight | Light | Heavy |
| Working temperature ceiling | Resin-limited | Higher |
| Cost profile | Higher purchase, lowest lifetime in corrosive duty | Lower purchase |
Anywhere metallic trays are on a replacement cycle: chemical exposure, salt air, washdown chemistry. The higher purchase price is repaid by never replacing the run and never repainting it.
No — the material is non-conductive, so the tray itself carries no touch-potential risk and requires no bonding jumpers across joints. Cable armour and metallic services still follow normal earthing practice.
Specify the fire-retardant grade: our FR resin systems align with IS 6746 surface-burning and ASTM D635 flammability requirements, with Class 1 flame-spread class options for critical areas.
With the matching FRP accessory family — factory couplers, splice plates, bends, tees and reducers — assembled with SS or FRP hardware. No hot work is needed on site.
